Maizie

Sweet Maizie, this is the picture I drew of you. I love your hat and the shadow that falls on your face. You are so beautiful. I am glad you belong
to Grandpa and me! We think you have the most delightful grip on life. You make us happy just thinking about you. We know that Millie is in good hands because you love her so much. Have you taught her how to carry her baby and about 25 other important things at the same time? By the way Grandpa is still hungry for some ribs!

Could it be that I love Lucy double?
Do you think Matt and Sam are starting to look alike?

I can't wait to hold a new baby!

Summer Challeng

Emmie and Jenny I still need blogging lessons, everything is backwards.
How do you put more than five pictures on at a time? This is my basket.
Jenny this picture is darling. McKinnley or Madison do you want to do a summer challenge?

Emmie you are beautiful!
Thompsons I have a trunk full of hats to take pictures of you when you come to Wallsburg.
I am counting down the days.

Lucy did her purse with mucho stickers. Is she not the cutest thing ever!
Oh. my heart!
Moms --am I learning to take pictures or what.
Oh those eyes! Abbie is standing in grandpa's new little hay barn.
I keep getting side tracked by cute pictures. The boys made boxes too and filled them with, sticks, rusty things out of grandpa's tool chest, bailing twine, rocks, what ever they thought looked interesting.
"THE ORDINARY ARTS WE PRACTICE EVERYDAY AT HOME ARE OF MORE IMPORTANCE TO THE SOUL THAN THEIR SIMPLICITY MIGHT SUGGEST."
I made a secret basket and filled it with my scriptures, good pens and markers, a journal, my Lagona book that Kelly made, a thank you note from Nick, yummy Lavender Lotion from Jamie, a letter from Kim, a pretty book mark, a blue marble egg, and I am looking for the worry rock Matt gave me, wish I had some chocolate. I want to challenge the Mom's to make their own secret basket or drawer or box. A place to escape even for just a few minutes.
Next weeks challenge is to do something for the 4th of July, hang a flag, make a flower arrangement, do family after dark fireworks. I can see Bret's little family laying on the lawn in their old house lighting sparklers. It was a picture to remember.
The next week I am going to be in Nauvoo with Grandma and Diane. Jenny could you do a challenge, or any moms? Or we could challenge everyone to go swimming at dark. Then holy cow---it will be BABY OH BABY" We will all be thinking about our newest most wonderful surprise. We can do anything about babies. The new pictures will be flying soon! I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!!!! Jamie you are in all of our thoughts and prayers!
HAPPY SUMMER, AND BE CREATIVE!

Secret Boxes

For my weeks creative challange we made secret boxes to hold treasures.
"THE CREATIVE MIND PLAYS WITH THE OBJECTS IT LOVES"
Matt had my camera in Los Vegas so I didn't get the boys. Maybe their Moms want to take of picture of them with their boxes and post in on my blog (Gwenbclark@gmail.com clark008) The girls were so much fun. Kelly's kids are working on theirs. Kelly will you post us some pictures? Isn't Katy adorable!

Abbie you make me smile! Your purse is funky. Does it have any treasures inside?

"MAGIC IS THE ELEMENTAL STUFF OF ART--SIGHT, SOUND,SMELL,TASTE,TOUCH"
Emilee I love you in pink. Your purse is great, what will you put in it?
Jenny I like the stripes, and I love you! When is your new room in your new house going to be ready?

Jamie is creative

Jamie is one of the most creative people I know. She always inspires me with the funky way she dresses. I love how she decorates her house to look so expensive and tasteful. I love the jewerly she shares with all of us, not to mention how she makes all of us feel pretty when our hair needs a little help. Today she cut Emilee's, her friend's, and my hair all in just a few moments. She is generous with her creative way! She wears life in an easy way. She is going to present our creative challenge this week. Don't get intimidated if you are not a "sewer". I am going to make a camera bag out of material and safety pins. Make a book mark, or a head band or a pencil can with a bow tied around it. Just think to yourself. . . How would Jamie do this and WaLa there you have it.

"Whatever you think you can do or belive you can do, begin it.
Action has magic, grace and power in it."

"Do what intrigues you. Imagination needs moody-happy idling, dawdling, puttering."

Emilee

Kim and her kids slept over, it was such fun. They built some mighty towers.
Summer looks like it is really here.

Emilee you are soooo gorgeous! Look are your hair shine. Thanks for starting our creative challenge for the summer. Here is my recipe:
CROISSANT-ALL-A-LUSH
Mix one small package of vanilla instant pudding as directed on the box. Put in fridge
Whip one small carton of whipping cream then add 2 T. powder sugar and mix
Soften 1/2 package of cream cheese to room temperature (a few seconds in a microwave will do)
Beat the softened cream cheese in mixer until smooth
When pudding is set mix all three ingredients in the mixer on low until blended good.
Now slice a croissant roll down the middle, fill generously with cream mixture and add fresh fruit, berries, bananas, whatever you like and gather your family out on the lawn for a family night treat.

Who wants suggest to take next weeks idea?

HEY YOU GUYS! LOOK AT ME I AM " B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!" Pure Delight! " The quality of life is in proportion, always to the capacity for delight. The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention." It is a raining morning in Wallsburg, I just opened my window to breath the misty air. I have sweet purple flowers growing right up to my window sill. I am drinking in the wonder of a new spring day. I have been studying a book on creativity, "The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. I am thinking it would be fun to have a summer creative class together. What do you think? This picture of Lucy says it all. . . let's live life!
This picture is on its side to help us get creative by twisting our necks. I have this picture in my journal because she is so happy and free and lovely. I have seen this same, "so a live" expression on Kim, Nicole, Kelly, and Jamie. What beautiful Mom's! If we can make our hearts feel as happy as this picture looks then we are living a creative life.
These flowers whisper SPRING!
This wreath always makes me stop and study it. This is my idea. Let's have a 12 week summer class. Each week I will put an idea on the blogg for us to experiment with. Anyone, Moms or kids, girls or boys. Then you can share back on your blogs. Is there anyone interested?. . . . I think McKinnley would be game. Here is a simple outline to think about. If it looks fun jump aboard. It would be fun to connect our dreams this summer.
June 10th: Emilee's cook off!
June 17th: A secret collection
June 18th: GOT INK?
June 30th: Sunrise, Sunset
July 1st: 4th of July Splendor
July 8th: Happy Birthday anyone?
July 15th: Who can write a poem?
July 22nd: Kelly's Birthday !!! Flowers, or Frogs
July 29th: Baby, Baby, Baby on our mind!
August 5th: Favorite new summer song
August 12th: I think I can hear the beach calling!
August 19th: Self Portrait . . . Who is this person?

" Our creative dreams and yearnings come from a divine source.
As we move toward our dreams we move toward our divinity."

Katy

Katy you have the most gorgeous blue eyes. I get lost looking at them. One of my most favoriote things in life is when you sneak up and hug me. I hope you never grow too old for that. I love you more than infinity and back. You looked so cute in your blue pokadot dress at graduation and you did a super job. Happy Summer Lazy Days to you . Kisses and Hugs! Grandma C.
